About the Author

Hey there! It’s nice to meet you. Thanks for taking the time to visit my little blog today. My name is Margaret. I’m a gap year student from Oregon currently participating in the year-long Kennedy-Lugar YES Abroad program, a scholarship run through the U.S. State Department, in Sofia, Bulgaria (updates here!). During the summer before my sophomore year of high school, I decided to start a travel blog to document my adventures as a short-term exchange student to Ahmedabad, India. I fell in love with blogging and have been sharing my (admittedly sporadic) international experiences ever since! The name, Earth Cover to Cover, was chosen for two reasons: The first is that I was inspired by the St. Augustine quote found in the blog’s tagline. The second is that I was a very shy kid. Growing up I always had my nose in a book because the world was a scary place, but through literature I could travel to magical, far-away lands and cast myself as the heroine in epic tales. Now, I’m determined to step out of my comfort zone and create my own stories. I hope you’ll join me as I experience our amazing planet, cover to cover.

  1. Hi Margaret. I’m a friend of your mom’s and met you once when you were little. As I recall, we had a nice chat about Wind in the Willows or some similar book. Your mom has kept me posted on your activities over the years, and I was so envious when you spent that time in London and Paris. I’m a world traveler too and spent 3+ glorious weeks in India last year…it was one of the best trips I’ve ever taken. I know you will find India truly fascinating, but the best part will be the wonderful people you’ll meet. I look forward to reading your blog along the way….
